• Cinnabar Hills Golf Course – 23600 McKean Rd, San Jose, CA 95141, (408)323-5200, public. This club has three nine hole courses that can be played in three eighteen hole combinations. The design work is exceptional allowing for varying degrees of golfing skills and alternate means of reaching the greens. Nearly every hole has a receptive side to approach the putting surface and an opposing, shorter, more demanding angle into the flagstick.
• Los Lagos Golf Course - 2995 Tuers Rd, San Jose, CA 95121, (408)361-0250, public. Los Lagos Golf Course is an eighteen hole, par-68 course. The course is generally open, with gently rolling fairways and challenging greens. The course spans Coyote Creek, and water comes into play on several holes.
• Pleasant Hills Golf Course - 2050 S White Rd, San Jose, CA 95148, (408)238-3485, public. This facility has both a regulation eighteen hole course and an eighteen hole par 3 course. The Pleasant Hills Course is a mature, tree-lined course featuring some narrow fairways and well-bunkered holes. The Par 3 Cypress Greens Course can be quite demanding because of its tight fairways.
• San Jose Country Club - 15651 Alum Rock Ave, San Jose, CA 95127, (408)258-3636, private. This course was built at the base of the foothills in San Jose. The holes utilize a combination of level and slightly uphill and downhill elevation changes. The greens provide small targets with both level and hilly terrain.
• San Jose Municipal Golf Course - 1560 Oakland Rd, San Jose, CA 95131, (408)441-4653, public. This flat course is in excellent condition. This facility has a double-deck driving range open nightly until 10 PM.
• Santa Teresa Golf Course - 260 Bernal Rd, San Jose, CA 95119, (408)225-2650, public. This facility has an eighteen hole regulation course and a nine hole par 3 course. The eighteen hole course has both flat and hilly greens. Water comes into play on two holes, and there's only a few sand bunkers on the course.
• Silver Creek Valley Country Club - 5460 Country Club Pkwy, San Jose, CA 95138, (408)239-5775, private. This always well-manicured course was built on rolling terrain and features water hazards coming into play on at least four holes. The greens are fast and the fairways are extremely narrow.
• The Ranch Golf Club - 4601 Hill Top View Lane, San Jose, CA 95138, (408)270-0557, public. Nice rolling hills golf course with 18 holes and par of 72.
• Villages Golf & Country Club - 5000 Cribari Ln, San Jose, CA 95135, (408)274-3220, private. This club offers a regulation eighteen hole course and nine hole par 3 course. These courses are located in a private community with 1,200 members belonging to the club. There are eight water hazards that come into play throughout the Eighteen Hole Course.
